Affordable Dreams Devon is a local scheme which encourages local wedding service providers to recommend each others business to you, the happy couple. Quote ‘Affordable Dreams’ and it is possible to benefit from a range of amazing member discounts as well as using local companies which all excel in their fields of expertise. Their knowledge of their specific industries will help towards creating your perfect day and enable you to relax and enjoy the planning experience.   

 

Affordable Dreams was set up in 2009 by Joanne Macaskie of ‘Gemme de Joanne’ Jewellery and Charles Russell, who was managing ‘Bickley Mill’ at the time. Alan Arnold of ‘Sweet Memory Lane’ and Vicki Boulter of ‘Boutlers Inc’ then came on board to assist with the development of the scheme.

 

Jo started in the jewellery industry over 20 years ago and her passion for the industry enables her to experiment with new designs and grow her successful business ‘Gemme de Joanne’, created in 2006. Jo’s range of bespoke bridal jewellery became its own brand in 2009 and ‘Everything but the Dress- In association with Affordable Dreams’ was opened in Fleet Walk, Torquay. There is an extensive range of bridal jewellery, handcrafted fascinators, umbrellas, shrugs and gifts available in store as well as a free consultation for those who require bespoke pieces or simply need some guidance. Her personal approach is sure to give you piece of mind for your special day. Jo also worked at Bickley Mill for 4 years as their Wedding Coordinator enhancing her knowledge of the industry.  

 

Charles works alongside Jo and Alan with the day to day running of the business and manages the website. With 20 years experience in the hospitality industry in city centre hotels and country house hotels, he has invaluable experience of the wedding industry. After 4 years managing ‘Bickley Mill’, Charles now is General Manager of ‘The Edgemoor Hotel’, Bovey Tracey.

 

Alan of ‘Sweet Memory Lane’, Fermoys Garden Centre, Newton Abbot is responsible for our updates on Facebook alongside events and new membership. Alan’s background is an hotelier and established Sweet Memory Lane in 2003 which has been recognised at local wedding, craft and food events over the South West.

 

Vicki from ‘Boulters Inc’, Torquay was responsible for the development of the website and Facebook and stood down from Affordable Dreams in 2010 due to her own business expanding.
